The US Navy protects all those things, alongside doing top secret missions on submarines. ABC Action News stanley water bottle  reporter Wendi Lane had the opportunity to become a sailor for a day in Norfolk, Virginia, to see what our military members experience.Florida Native Patrick Connaway serves as a navigator, sometimes underwater for as long as three months at a time. We got a firsthand look at what its like to drive and navigate a submarine, the training our sailors complete to be ready for emergencies on board.Connaway took us on board the USS Albany. The submarine is a little bit longer than a football field. You cant be claustrophobic,  Connaway joked.Around 150 sailors could be on a submarine at a time, all sleeping in tiny nooks. They can be submerged underwater for three months at a time. If something goes wrong 500 feet below the surface of the water, like a leak or a fire, the sailors cant call for help.Nearly all submarine sai stanley cup lors are also trained firemen. New NYPD training videos released Wednesday clearly show officers what they can and cannot do when taking a suspect into custody,But sometimes that training does not translate in real life. There s already theres a law on the books banning officers from putting people in chokeholds, but the city council wants to take things a step further, banning officers from applying pressure or restricting a suspect s diaphragm. Its tough right now to be a police officer,  said NYPD Chief of Department Terence Monahan.  You have to worry that if a suspect shot at you and you put a knee on his back, that now you become the criminal.
