Letters laced with powdery substances, including some containing fentanyl, were sent to multiple local election offices across the U.S. in what some lawmakers are calling acts of domestic terrorism.The suspicious envelopes have appeared in at least five states 鈥?Georgia, Oregon, California, Washington and Nevada, according to the FBI and U.S. Postal Inspection Service 鈥?and fentanyl was discovered in four cases.One target appeared to be election offices in Georgia s Fulton County, which is currently spearheading theelection interference caseagainst former President Donald Trump andhis allies.Officials told multiple outlets a letter laced with fentanyl was mailed to election workers there, but Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said authorities were working to intercept it before it arrived. A former Minneapolis police officer has plead stanley cup ed guilty to a state charge of aiding and  gourde stanley abetting second-degree manslaughter in the death of George Floyd.As part of Wednesdays plea deal, Thomas Lane will have a count of aiding and abetting second-degree unintentional murder dismissed.In February, Lane testified and said he did chest compressions on Floyd when paramedics arrived.He said Floyd  didnt look good. Lane was the last officer to testify in the federal trial surrounding Floyds death.Two other officers, J. Alexander Kueng and Tou Thao, have already been convicted on federal counts of violating the civil rights of Floyd, who was Black.Their former colleague, Derek Chauvin, was convicted of murder last year and pleaded guilty to a federal civil rights violation.Chauvin was sentenced to 22 1/2 y stanley cup ears in prison in the state case.
